The Japanese will bring the Lexus LS facelift in early 2021 at a price not yet stated. Even if not clearly communicated, the 3.5-litre six-cylinder with 421 hp should still be available in addition to the revised LS 500h. The Hybrid 500h has an optimized battery that supports the electric motor in a broader range of applications. The five-meter-long luxury sedan should therefore accelerate more smoothly and evenly. Another positive effect: The combustion engine now runs at lower speeds and is therefore quieter. Lexus does not reveal whether the technical data of the drive has changed. To date, the LS 500h had a system output of 359 hp and 350 Newton meters of torque in the datasheet. In order to increase comfort, the developers made the sidewalls of the tires more flexible. With a new solenoid and an increased flow in the control valve, the adaptive dampers of the Lexus LS Facelift (2021) now have a larger map. The stiffness of the anti-roll bars has been increased to reduce the body roll when cornering.
LEXUS LS FACELIFT (2021) AS LS 500 & LS 500H (HYBRID)
The distinctive Diabolo radiator grille with focused LED headlights and a coupé-like silhouette remains, but the Lexus LS Facelift (2021) is sharpened by a newly shaped front bumper and a new, now dark grille insert. As with coupés, the Lexus should also focus on comfort. The optional air suspension lifts the car when it is unlocked, and the seat bolsters are also opened. Speaking of seat bolsters: the facelift has brought in new seat cushions with an additional soft layer and deeper seams. In the interior, the Lexus LS Facelift (2021) should not only score with fine materials and plenty of space but also with a largely contact-free infotainment system. The latest Lexus multimedia system is also powered by a new, the touchscreen moved closer to the driver. Functions such as electric seat adjustment or steering wheel heating can now be accessed more quickly via this. Uniform surfaces and new contours for the multifunction steering wheel round off the facelift of the interior.
NO PRICE YET FOR THE LEXUS LS FACELIFT (2021)
The Lexus LS Facelift (2021) has also been revised for the assistance systems: New is the Lexus Active Park Assist, which not only automatically parks the luxury sedan, but also saves and recognizes regularly used parking spaces. An adaptive high beam assistant is also on board for the first time. The interior mirror now shows the image of the reversing camera at the push of a button, provided that the rearview is blocked by the rear window. The 360-degree camera has a new pedestrian detection system, and additional motors now tighten the seat belts in the event of an impending accident. The Japanese have not yet announced a price for the Lexus LS Facelift (2021), the market launch is scheduled for early 2021.
LEXUS LS FACELIFT (2021) ALSO CALLED LEXUS LS-F SPORT
The Lexus LS-F Sport also received a revision with the Lexus LS Facelift (2021): The sporty luxury sedan appears extremely dynamic not only because of its voracious front but also because of numerous add-on parts. Especially since the Japanese have also trimmed the interior to sport mode and combined it with “Omotenashi”, the Japanese hospitality that takes care of drivers and passengers. This manifests itself in inviting sports seats, a sports steering wheel with numerous control options and elegant aluminium pedals. The “Circuit Red Interior” is also available exclusively for the Lexus LS-F Sport.
