The R67 is the newest and most popular project from the Russian company Aviar Motors. The electric car with the Mustang look is based on the Tesla Model S.
With the Mustang Mach-E, Ford will bring out the first electrified version of the US legend in 2020. Visually and technically, the E-SUV has little in common with the iconic charm of the original muscle car. Now a Russian company is announcing the better electric Mustang. A vehicle with the look of a 1960s pony and the technology of one of the most prestigious electric cars on the market, the Tesla Model S.
MIXTURE OF THE PAST AND THE MODERN
Aviar R67 it should be called, the retro Mustang. Aviar Motors is the name of the company, whereby the 67 could stand for a 67 Mustang, on which the design is clearly based. Aleksey Rachev, founder and CEO of Aviar Motors, sums up the idea behind the model in relation to “Autoevolution” as follows: “We tried to capture the spirit of the legendary cars of the 60s and rethink it in a modern way.” In addition to the Mustang influences, which are mainly reflected in the look of the headlights, Aviar also used Tesla. This is particularly evident in the interior, where the large, central infotainment screen stands out.
PERFORMANCE AND RANGE ARE IMPRESSIVE
Another modern feature of the R67 is the drive, which comes from the Tesla Model S, one of the best-selling electric cars in the world. The data is impressive: two electric motors are supposed to work in the futuristic Russian Mustang, which generates a total of 850 hp. Acceleration: 0 to 100 in 2.2 seconds. Thanks to a 100 kWh battery, a range of over 500 kilometres should also be possible. As Aviar Motors explains, the electric sports car can even be charged at Tesla Supercharger stations. It all sounds like a project of the distant future. In fact, Aviar is already working on a prototype. The market launch has not yet been determined. The same applies to the price. However, we suspect: In this regard, the R67 will not be a real alternative to the Mach-E (from 46,000 euros).
