The new GT3 version of the Porsche 911, expected at the beginning of 2021, has a naturally aspirated engine with 510 HP, more advanced aerodynamics, and more refined suspension.
THE RANGE EXPANDS
Like the previous ones, the eighth generation of the Porsche 911 (992 series) is also offered in numerous versions: after the Carrera and Carrera S, unveiled at the end of 2018, the discovery Cabriolet and the Targa made their debut. a large glass sunroof, in addition to the high-performance Turbo and Turbo S. The next to arrive will be the Porsche 911 GT3, the version for those who don’t mind track use, which should make its debut early next year. Pending the presentation, the German manufacturer has anticipated the first details.
Stylistically, the new Porsche 911 GT3 is even more aggressive than the previous one, due to the unprecedented openings in the front hood, the enlarged rear extractor, and the wing, even higher and wider: the technicians of the German company have aerodynamics have been redesigned with a view to improving the stability of the car, without penalizing its resistance to running. But the GT3 continues to be recognized also for the specific fascias, with larger air intakes, and the more rounded wheel arches, the trademark of all GT3s.
THERE IS THE MANUAL TRANSMISSION
The 2021 Porsche 911 GT3 remains faithful to the recipe that has characterized the previous three generations because it will adopt the aspirated 4.0-liter 6-cylinder boxer. It is an evolution of the engine of the 2019 911 Speedster, with updates to comply with the latest anti-smog regulations and, which have not compromised the power qualities (it has 510 hp, 10 more than the previous GT3) and I extend (it can reach at 9,000 rpm). The 6-cylinder is offered with the 6-speed manual transmission or with the 7-speed robotic transmission.
In addition to improving aerodynamics and updating the engine, the manufacturer has also focused on keeping the weight down: despite having dimensions larger than the previous generation, the Porsche 911 GT3 has the same weight (about 1,430 kg), thanks to the presence of the front hood in carbon fiber. Also, as in the past, there are no rear seats and thinner windows are used than in the standard 911. On a technical level, the new Porsche 911 GT3 has an important novelty at the front: the suspension, for the first time, is a quadrilateral, designed to improve the absorption of bumps and stability in the most intense braking, so as to make the car even more precise to drive on routes with less than perfect road surfaces
