At the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2020, Hyundai presented the RM20e, the new sports and electric car of the Korean-born brand. The RM symbol symbolizes the rear-wheel-drive “Racing Midship” configuration of the N-brand prototypes, a design capable of providing balance and handling with a low centre of gravity. The RM platform proves to be an excellent ally for high performance, thanks to exceptional grip on the asphalt at all speeds and in all conditions. The balancing characteristics and the RM intrinsic seal are essential to exploit the 810 horsepower and 960 Nm of torque of RM20e on different surfaces.
As anticipated, the Hyundai RM20e has an electric motor capable of developing 810 HP of power and 960 Nm of torque, which translates into acceleration from 0-100 km / h in less than 3 seconds, and from 0-200 km / h in 9.88 seconds. The RM20e has a technical layout with a mid-engine and rear-wheel drive, capable of perfectly combining balance, braking and grip similar to that of a racing car while maintaining the quietness, responsiveness and road driving skills of the everyday driver. . In addition, the recent investment and strategic partnership with Rimac Automobili have facilitated the joint development of battery and hydrogen prototypes while the electrified RM platform will continue to evolve following the growth of the partnership between the two brands. Additionally, Hyundai Motor Group has planned to implement 44 eco-friendly ones by 2025, bringing the Hyundai N brand to the forefront of environmental responsibility.
N symbol of passion
The N symbol of Hyundai N represents, on the one hand, Namyang, home of the Hyundai Research and Development Center in South Korea since 1995 – where the N brand was born – and on the other the Nürburgring, home of the Hyundai European Test Center. The close collaboration between Namyang and Nürburgring created the foundation for N, based on Hyundai’s automotive experience and capable of delivering exciting road dynamics for all customers who truly love to drive. The “N” logo itself embodies this idea as it symbolizes a classic street course chicane.
