Honda has unveiled the first details relating to the innovations that it will present at the Beijing International Automotive Exhibition 2020, or the 2020 Beijing Motor Show which will take place from 26 September to 5 October, after the postponement of the event originally scheduled for the end of April due to coronavirus related health emergency.
Honda’s first electric car for the Chinese market
The star of the Honda stand in Beijing will be a new concept car that offers concrete clues about the Japanese manufacturer’s first electric model that will soon be launched in China. The prototype, whose name has not yet been announced, will be previewed at the event in the Chinese capital and is anticipated by a first teaser image that gives us a taste of the exterior design.
United LED headlights and illuminated logo
The image shows the front of the car equipped with sharp LED headlights joined together by an LED light strip under which the large illuminated Honda logo is centrally located. The dark image does not allow us to see what is under the logo, but it is assumed that there is no grille since we are talking about an electric vehicle. Among other visible details we note the LED fog lights, the sharp ribs on the hood and the multi-spoke rims on the wheels.
Judging by the proportions, Honda’s electric concept could be a sedan or perhaps a crossover-coupe, but we’ll know for sure next September 26, its debut date.
Space also for the Honda CR-V PHEV hybrid
In addition to the new EV prototype, Honda will also bring the CR-V PHEV to Beijing, the first car of the Japanese manufacturer with a plug-in hybrid system to be marketed in China. Other electrified models will also be exhibited at the Honda stand, as well as the latest news from the company relating to series production.
