A few hours after the presentation of the Panda restyling, Fiat has opened orders for the updated version of the city car. The small Turin will be offered in six different versions – Panda, City Life, Sport, Wild 4×4, City Cross, and Cross – and will be available with different engines. For the moment there is no LPG bi-fuel version in the price lists, but the 1.0 FireFly 70 HP mild hybrid, 0.9 TwinAir Turbo Natural Power natural gas 70 HP (arriving in November), and 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 4×4 85 can already be ordered. CV. The prices, turnkey but without putting it on the road (900 euros), start at 13,990 euros, but by taking advantage of state incentives, launch promotions, and FCA Bank financing, it is possible to take home a new Panda with 8,200 euros.
The combinations available in the range
By presenting the updated version of the Panda, the company has changed the price lists of the small according to a new logic. Now there are three “souls” of the city car – Life, Sport, and Cross – and all trim levels (4×4 excluded) are available with hybrid engines. But let’s go in order, analyzing in detail the prices, characteristics, consumption, and performance of the various versions.
The hybrid Panda
In recent months, the Lingotto introduced the first hybrid version of the Panda: the 70 HP 1.0 FireFly mild hybrid with Start & Stop and the six-speed manual gearbox is also available on the restyling in combination with the Panda, City Life, Sport, City Cross, and Cross. With this engine, the small Turin can reach 100 km / h from a standing start in 13.9 seconds and reach a top speed of 164 km / h. Regardless of the set-up, the declared consumption in the combined cycle is equal to 3.9 l / 100 km with 89 g / km of CO2 emissions. As for the prices, however, the Panda Hybrid is offered for 13,900 euros, the Panda Hybrid City Life for 14,700 euros, the Panda Hybrid Sport for 15,500 euros, the Panda Hybrid City Cross for 16,300 euros, and the Panda Hybrid Cross for 17,100 euros.
The petrol-powered Panda
The only four-wheel-drive versions of the Panda will be powered by a 0.9-liter 85 bhp TwinAir turbocharged petrol engine with Start & Stop system and six-speed automatic transmission. With this unit, borrowed from the outgoing version, the Panda 4×4 will be able to reach a maximum speed of 163 km / h and complete the 0-100 km / h in 12.8 seconds with a declared average consumption of 5.7 l / 100 km and 131 g / km of CO2 emissions. Price chapter: the Panda Wild 4×4 has a starting price of 17,350 euros, the Panda City Cross 4×4 of 18,950 euros, and the Panda Cross 4×4 of 19,750 euros.
The Panda on methane
To be able to order a methane bi-fuel Panda, it will be necessary to wait at least until November, when the manufacturer will open orders for the 0.9 TwinAir Turbo 70 HP Natural Power. Also, this unit derives from the one already present in the price list and, in the data declared by the manufacturer, it proposes a consumption of 3.5 l / 100 km running on petrol and 5.5 kg / 100 km traveling on natural gas: the 0-100 km / h is completed in 14.1 seconds, while the top speed is 162 km / h. Moving on to prices, the Panda City Life Natural Power will be on sale for 17,050 euros, the Panda City Cross Natural Power for 18,650 euros, and the Panda Cross Natural Power for 19,450 euros.
Wheels, colors, and customizations
In the list, there are eight different types of rims, some of which are offered as options and others available only with certain configurations. The entry model, the City Life, the Cross, the City Cross, and the Wild 4×4 are offered with 14 “or 15” sheet metal rims: to have 15 “alloy wheels, you need to add 510 euros. Standard alloy wheels are the Sport with 16 “specifically designed wheels. Customers will be able to order the Panda restyling with 17 different body colors, some of which are specific to the set-ups: they are the pastel Black Cinema, Ice Cream White, Sicilian Orange, Fashion Gray, Sun Yellow, Ceramic Blue, and Love Red, the metallic and medicalized Gray. Maestro, Tuscan Green, and Mediterranean Blue.
The D-Fence packages (299 euros) – with cabin filter, air purifier, and UV lamp – and Flex Light (300 euros) with 40/60 split rear seat, five homologations, will be available on all versions, excluding the basic one. seats, smoking kit, and front and rear mats. The Flex package (450 euros) is available on the Panda City Life, Wild 4×4, and Sport which adds the foldable passenger seat with a table to the Flex Light. For the Wild 4×4, City Cross and Cross the Winter Pack (300 euros) can be ordered with heated front seats and a heated windscreen, while for the Sport the Pandemonium kit (350 euros) with privacy glass, leather steering wheel, and red brake calipers is available. . The Panda City Life, Sport, City Cross, and Wild 4×4 can finally be equipped with the City packages (350 euros).
